Most everybody seriously interested in UFOs is well aware that the United States Air Force has been guilty of a great deal of misrepresentation about UFOs, dating back to the 1940s. They haven't provided details of the discussions between Dr. James Doolittle (USAF General) and the Swedish defense department in 1946 concerning Ghost Rockets. There were lies about Kenneth Arnold's sighting on June 24, 1947, and about the Roswell Incident in early July, 1947, when real UFO wreckage was replaced with weather balloon wreckage in General Roger Ramey's Fort Worth Office and the pictures sent far and wide to deceive the public. The Secretary of the Air Force, Donald Quarles, lied in 1955 about Blue Book Special Report Number 14. The USAF double talked about the findings of Blue Book and even lied to a United States Senator, Patty Murray of Washington State as I documented in TOP SECRET/MAJIC. Later they lied by claiming that the Roswell wreckage was really a Mogul Balloon train though nothing matched the facts. Perhaps the biggest lie was trying to pass off crash test dummies, dropped all over New Mexico as explaining reports of alien bodies associated with the Roswell crash...despite the fact that none were dropped until six years after Roswell and all were 6-foot tall and weighed 175 pounds and were in USAF garb.
