Safety Case for Adoption of LNG

摘要

To better understand and manage the risks of using a type of fuel that is new to BCF, a formal safety case approach was applied. This is a requirement under the proposed International Code for Gas-Fuelled Vessels (the IGF code) soon to be ratified by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), of which Canada is a signatory member. The IGF code will be the primary regulatory reference employed by Transport Canada for domestic shipping using LNG.
