Degree-level education in naval architecture and marine engineering is provided in Greece at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in the form of a comprehensive five-year program. The Technological Educational Institute of Athens offers another program within the Greek higher education sector, lasting for four years. The NTUA degree is the academic qualification required for registration as an engineer in the Technical Chamber of Greece, with the subsequent granting of the full rights of a professional engineer.
