EDITOR'S LETTER

I'm not a big one for acronyms, in fact I find them rather irritating - why not just say what you mean rather than keep everyone guessing? The advent of the text message has precipitated the trend for cyberslang. There are lots of online dictionaries that reveal their mysteries - shame on me for thinking that LOL means Lots of Love! And, who'd have guessed **// means wink wink nudge nudge? I could go on! Anyway, that said, there is one acronym that does rather amuse me -FOMO. For the uninitiated, it means Fear Of Missing Out, an emotion that is heightened this time of year with the plethora of outstanding motoring events, shows, racing and activities that are taking place around the country. There are so many, and let's face it, we have waited all winter for them to come round again, that at MOG HQ we have all been experiencing a touch of FOMO - trying to fit as many in as we possibly can in between other commitments.
