Through trains to Manchester Airport are expected to join the map of Arriva Trains Wales' services in thernDecember 2009 timetable. Subject tornOffice of Rail Regulation approval, ATW will operate an early-morning service from Chester to the airport and two late-evening departures from the airport. Commercial director Mike Bagshaw said these were the only paths available between Manchester Piccadilly and the airport, and the timings would suit many air travellers. ATW aspires to operate hourly to the airport by utilising the hour-long layover at Piccadilly of units on Llandudno-Manchester workings.rnThrough trains to the airport are a longstanding ambition of local authorities and other stakeholders in North Wales, who argue that Manchester is their region's only large international airport.
