FEUXSTOWE TO WAKEFIELD SERVICE

GB RAILFREIGHT has started a new intermodal service from the Port of Felixstowe to Maritime Transport's Wakefield Europort terminal. The service is operated in partnership with Maritime and represents GBRf's seventh intermodal service into a Maritime facility and its 21st overall. The service will operate on a weekly basis, running Monday to Friday, and will initially comprise a mix of wagon types, including two Eco Triples, two Q8s and eleven IKA Twins. GBRf says this combination allows for enhanced flexibility, maximising the number of boxes that can be carried to better satisfy consumer demand and make more effective use of overall capacity.
