New Wrexham depot gets go ahead

Train operating company Wrexham & Shropshire has welcomed a Welsh Assembly Government announcement that it has reached agreement with Network Rail on depot facilities at Wrexham General station. The depot will support Wrexham & Shropshire's new direct rail service, scheduled to start in spring 2008, with overnight accommodation for trains, storage for catering supplies and secure office space. Mk 3s for the new service are now being overhauled at EWS's Marcroft works at Stoke-on-Trent.
