SAP to acquire Ariba

Taking large steps to expand its presence in the cloud, ERP giant SAP announced that its subsidiary, SAP America, has entered into an agreement to acquire Ariba, a 15-year-old, cloud-based supply chain management technology provider for roughly $4.3 billion. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter.
