The subject for this issue is a small vee block and whilst small, this is not without a challenge when attempting to make it using only the lathe. It is though an excellent size for using on a vertical slide and is made from a casting available from Woking Precision (ref. 1). No drawing is provided with the casting but in any case there is no real reason to work to any particular dimensions. Its nominal dimensions after machining are base 3in. x 1 3/8 in. height 1 3/8in.
