IoW in costs stalemate with local care provider

Isle of Wight Council is at loggerheads with a care provider over mounting costs. The council funds 62 people with learning disabilities to live at Ryde House at a total annual cost of £5m. Earlier this year, Ryde House requested an increase in fees for 36 people amounting to an average rise of 26%, according to the council, on top of an annual fee uplift awarded to all care homes.
