Buckinghamshire CC has announced the appointment of David Johnston who this week takes up the role as managing director for children's social care and learning. After qualifying as a social worker he was employed in children's social care services for several years before progressing to more senior and management positions in local authorities. Following this, he worked as a social services inspector for five years, before deciding to return to local authority management in 2002. He has been with Buckinghamshire CC as interim service director since December 2013, supporting and advising the authority.
