Commercial partnership pays off for N Lanarkshire Council

North Lanarkshire Council has raised £45m through its property portfolio in a deal with Barclays. Under the scheme, all 975 commercial properties have been transferred to a new limited liability partnership, North Lanarkshire Properties, and Barclays will lend the money based on future rental income. 'This is one of a number of real estate deals we have completed this year, as we proactively look to increase our loan book across the public and private sector and deliver further support for corporate Scotland,' said Barclays' head of corporate banking, Jamie Grant.
