Third sector minister, Kevin Brennan, has promised to review Whitehall's recruitment processes to help local authorities meet targets to increase employment among excluded groups. Mr Brennan told members of the Directors of Adult Services Association last week: 'I have asked my officials to look into how we can adjust recruitment processes in the Civil Service so that more people from dis-advantaged backgrounds can apply to work in government.' As a first step, the minister will appoint an official with learning disabilities to work on the Cabinet Office's social exclusion task force.
