BCF not doing enough to protect social care

Two areas are still receiving 'intensive support' amid concerns that their Better Care Fund (BCF) plans do enough to protect social care. The NHS England review process has identified a number of areas for improvement that need to be addressed before the areas can moved to fully approved status. NHS England has requested further time to work intensively with the areas though the nature of this support is not known. A Department of Health spokesman would not disclose which areas were still receiving support - three months after the BCF plans started to be implemented.
