Having seen David Ulrich speak very recently I take the perspective that his views have significant relevance both for HR and other areas of business. One line from his presentation stays with me "Crisis gives us a license to act".Those of us who are mature enough to have been through previous downturns cut our teeth on helping our organisations survive the cold winds of financial meltdown, and it was certainly true that the crises we endured taught us to operate in very different ways. It was a time to both focus on core activities and create new ways of thinking and working. It is amazing how innovative you can be when you have no money to play with.
