Surrey CC has upped the ante in the battle against the rising number of youngsters not in education, employment or training (Neets). Surrey's campaign to fill 200 apprentice places has got off to a solid start, with local businesses pledging 24 places at a launch event. The county will create 10 internal apprenticeships under the scheme.
