Sharing the pain... and the gain

In a case of better late than never, the Local Government Group (LGG) has published a new guide for councils considering setting up shared services, as part of its in-house shared services programme. This was set up by the LGG to support and develop shared services which, while a hot topic for years, has more recently acquired added urgency because of budget cuts. In particular, more and more district councils are sharing top management teams.
