Rise in DECC's headcount angers Taxpayers' Alliance

The Taxpayers' Alliance (TPA) campaign group has lambasted the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) for adding more staff to its workforce than any other Whitehall department. Quarterly civil service employment figures have revealed that the DECC added an additional 113 staff to its roster between December 2011 and March 2012, increasing the department's employee numbers by 4%.
