Well I can't believe it's a year (or just over) since we were at the 2015 PPMA Conference and I'm looking forward to a great conference under the leadership of the new President Sue Evans, and the opportunity to meet up with friends from the HR and OD world (old and new) as they come together at Aston University in Birmingham. The conference theme 'Let's Talk People' fires me up for sessions that will focus us on the core asset of any organisation -it's employees - and how when engaged and inspired they make a real difference to public service delivery and ultimately to the lives of the community they serve. It has been a year of further change for the HR profession and for the sector; and transformation is really underway in our public services. People don't talk of change now as if it's a problem or a threat, but an opportunity and strength; there's greater resilience in the employees as they recognise that in order to deliver differently they have to think and act differently in their leadership and work.
