Few visitors were unfamiliar with the basic details of the San Jose Mine rescue - how on Aug. 5, 2010, a main shaft collapse at the mine trapped 33 miners and initiated an international rescue operation that was to last until Oct. 13, when the last miner was brought up through the hole drilled by the Plan B team.
