Talco Plastics Expands Capacity With State Grant

Talco Plastics, Inc. based in Corona, California, expanded its HDPE reclaiming capacity with the help of a state grant. "Since California came out with the grant program Talco decided to expand its facility to process 24 million pounds annually. We were able to refine the systems we had in place and take advantage of the knowledge Talco had acquired processing post consumer HDPE," said Ajit Perera,Vice President of Post-Consumer Operations. The company was able to purchase washing, grinding, and extruding equipment. "Our goal was to increase capacity by 30 percent with the grant funds and this was achieved in 2007."Talco Plastics has two divisions: Post-industrial division, located in Corona, handles commodity resins as well as engineering grades from PE to Propi-onate; and Post-consumer division, located in Long Beach, processes HDPE.
