Containerboard Production Flat For August, AF&PA Reports

U.S. containerboard production was flat for August when compared with July 2011, reported the American Forest & Paper Association in its August 2011 U.S. Containerboard Statistics Report. The containerboard operating rate for August 2011 was down 2.0 points over August 2010 to 97.5 percent and 0.3 points from July's operating rate. Additional key findings from the report include: 1. Linerboard production was down over last year. 2. Medium production showed slight decline from July 2011. In related news, total boxboard production decreased by 2.7 percent compared with August 2010, and decreased 0.9 percent from last month, the AF&PA reported in its August 2011 U.S. Paperboard Report.
