MP Markets Tumble Due To China Ban

The markets for Mixed Paper have taken a direct hit due to China's ban on imports of certain types of scrap fiber and plastics, our sources report. Back in July, the Chinese government notified the World Trade Organization of their plans to ban 24 "solid waste" materials by the end of 2017, which includes Mixed Plastic and Mixed Paper, effective January 1, 2018, noted the National Waste & Recycling Association on its web site (See Page 4 for NWRA's position on China's ban).
