The Recycling Partnership has issued a report saying $17 billionin funding for the domestic residential recycling sector could increasethe national recycling rate to nearly 70 percent.The report “calls for a $17 billion investment over five years, to completelytransform the U.S. residential recycling system, maximize itspotential and make it as accessible to all households as trash service.”The Recycling Partnership said the funds should be applied to “provenrecycling solutions” and would generate a significant economicbenefit, beyond bolstering recycling availability.
