Check your storage is still oil right, urges agency

The Oil Storage Regulations came into force at the beginning of September and Gareth Stace of Dairy UK asked the Environment Agency to spell out exactly what this will mean for the industry in the future. It is now that you must make sure your oil storage meets the standards for the Control of Pollution (Oil Storage) (England) Regulations 2001. If you store oil outside and above ground in oil drums, tanks, mobile bowsers or intermediate bulk containers (IBC), you need to check your oil storage. And, if you have heavy fuel oils, lubricants, diesel or any other oil in a container over 200 litres you need to meet the minimum standards. The only type of oil not covered is waste mineral oil.
