I am a dairy farmer from Hawick, my accountant is from Galashiels and so I take his words with a pinch of salt - especially concerning rugby.rnHowever he did, 18 months ago, set the ball rolling with my interest in farm renewable energy. Nevertheless, that hasn't stopped me from doubling the strength of disinfectant whenever he enters the farm.rnWe were sitting around the kitchen table, discussing possible enterprises that would yield a greater return on investment than farming. It is fair to say that a good many more ideas were 'ruled in' than were'ruled out', but one idea in particular stuck in my mind: a small-scale wind turbine.
