In the movie "Bridge of Toko Ri," following the aerial attack on the bridge that leads to its destruction, Fredric March, playing the part of Rear Admiral March, asks, "Where do we get such men?" The book "Viper Pilot" answers this question in regard to U.S. Air Force pilots who fly the F-16 Viper. The heart of the book is the author's account of his service during the 2002 Gulf War. During that war, he flew an F-16 outfitted for the suppression of enemy antiaircraft defense. There are no tales within this book of air-to-air combat; instead we are treated to a litany of air-to-ground engagements where it is kill or be killed.
