Self-propelled gun systems are having something of a revival as armies seek to modernise their capabilities. Decisions about whether a tracked or wheeled capability is ultimately selected will largely depend on the army structure and the threats it faces. By keeping a modern artillery capability in good working order, armies can easily expand their fleets further, should threats continue to evolve.
