US developments in defence technologies thus trigger parallel efforts involving either the desire to mirror the new operational capabilities being acquired by US forces and to remain interoperable with them (for those who regards America as a allied and friend), or at the opposite end of the political/strategic spectrum the imperative need to take the best precautions as possible to withstand (to a point) a feared attack by the US forces. This mirroring/ countering trend is particularly noticeable, when the US developments in question are of an expeditionary nature.
