Military fields of operations become increasingly more dangerous, more unpredictable and less conventional. This requires vehicles that move fast, effectively and safely, over and through varied and complex terrains. They need to survive the mission, while carrying greater payloads over longer distances with improved agility.rnIn addition the need for rapid deployment or rapid reinforcement requires that vehicles can be transported easily. Again lower weight means increased payloads or long-rner distance flights, depending on the mode of transport. Thus the costs associated with transporting lighter weight vehicles to peace-bringing and peacekeeping operations can be significantly reduced, both in terms of fuel costs and manpower. Clearly, the need for more effective, lighter weight armoured vehicles has never been greater.
