Performance Based Logistics

Performance Based Logistics (PBL) have been underpinning a growing number of US weapon systems programmes; indeed it has become, if anything, the default option building upon a trend that began in the early 90s illustrated by the LOGCAP programmes, which were awarded to Kellogg, Brown & Root in the late 1990s. Based on the initial performance, the US DoD established it as the preferred solution for the procurement of support for its weapon systems in 2001.
