In commenting on the defence budget allocation for 2014, Irish Minister for Defence Alan Shatter acknowledged the significant reforms that have occurred within the Defence Organisation to date and the contribution that this has made to the maintenance of the on-going level of the Irish Defence Forces' operations both at home and overseas, having regard to resource constraints.
