Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar revealed in February 2016 that New Delhi is actively considering setting up an exclusive organisation for defence acquisition. Based on the recommendations made by the Dhirendra Singh Committee, which was responsible for the new DPP (Defence Procurement Procedure), Parrikar said it could be another six months to mold the concept.
