On the occasion of Farnborough Airshow 2016, MT asked top leaders of military aerospace industries around the world to share their exclusive views with our international readership about how their company copes with declining military budgets at home and strives to export to expanding/still lucrative markets. As one of the leading defence industries in Israel, we at Rafael are facing an interesting blend of forces; on one hand - an intensification of threats on all of our fronts, which has pushed the IDF to realign its efforts to areas that in the last decades have seen few or no threats at all, and on the other hand, a strict budgetary defence framework. This has a direct impact on all branches of the IDF, which must guarantee technological superiority over the various adversarial forces in the region.
