Rear Adm. Kathleen L. Martin, USN-Ret., became the CEO of Vinson Hall Retirement Community in McLean, Va., in 2005. Part of her mission has been to use technology and current research to improve the lives of her residents. So it was only i natural that she jumped at the chance for Vinson Hall to be the only retirement community in the U.S. to test the ef-fectiveness of Paro, a robotic har-bor seal designed for therapy.
