Many Americans don't realize they are enjoying - and have been enjoying - the lowest income tax rates in the nation's history. Rick Staszek, a registered financial planner with Financial Network Investment Corp. in Pittsburgh, says military officers approaching retirement need to be prepared for future tax hikes as some 76 million baby boomers retire and cash out in the next several years. Staszek thinks tax rates will top out as high as 60 percent.
