Why CEI?

All guardmembers and reservists are required to submit Civilian Employment Information (CEI) documents on an annual basis, a simple process that takes about five minutes to complete. However, Sgt. Maj. Thomas Holley, ARNC, senior enlisted advisor at ESCR, reports only 25 percent do so on a regular basis.rn"This means that DoD is unfamiliar with the needs and concerns of 75 percent of all reservist employers," says Holley. That's important because the collection of employer information facilitates open communication between DoD and employers and helps to inform all parties of their rights, benefits, and obligations.
