Every day U.S. soldiers make sacrifices in service to this country. We ask them to be always on watch and frequently to go into harm's way. For this, we as a nation owe them everlasting respect. We must never forget those who give and have given service in defense of our nation. There were also those who served our nation well but were not soldiers. Some of them were civilians who worked for the Treasury Department, State Department, and the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) and its heir, the Central Intelligence Agency. Here are the stories of three who also served.
