摘要

On 4 December 2019, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that financing to meet the existing humanitarian crises will increase in the coming year. The report also estimates that one in 45 people will need humanitarian assistance due to conflicts and climate change (The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) 2019). By April 2020, funding requirements had increased from $28.8 billion to assist 108.8 million of the 167.6 million people in need to $30.95 billion to assist 117.1 million of the 180.9 million people in need, mainly due to the assessed needs to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, drought and the locust crisis (The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) 2020). According to the report, countries in crisis such as Yemen, Syria, Somalia, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and several countries in the Sahel will be the drivers of humanitarian aid.
