OLYMEL PORK PLANT TO PROCESS SAUSAGE

Olymel LP plans to spend $2 million to convert a portion of the company's Red Deer, Alberta, pork processing plant to sausage production. The company expects work on the plant conversion to begin in mid-July. Once complete, the new sausage production lines will produce fresh sausages for markets in Western Canada. The addition to the processing plant will include new equipment and modern refrigeration facilities.
