摘要

The IMACS Seminar on Monte Carlo Methods MCM2001 held in Reading in May 2007 and was the sixth of a series of conferences dedicated to Monte Carlo Methods and applications. The previous meetings were held in Bruxelles (1997), Varna (1999), Salzburg (2001), Berlin (2003) and Tallahassee (2005). The purpose of this conference series is to provide a forum for presenting the recent advances in the design, implementation and applications of Monte Carlo methods and algorithms and, in particular to stimulate the exchange of information between specialists in these areas. The topics have covered both theoretical developments such as:
