HMG Paints, Ltd. (Manchester, England) recently launched Acrythane 4G, a high-gloss, high-solids acrylic polyurethane coating engineered specifically for commercial vehicle applications. With an optimized balance of early hardness, fast cure, and long pot life, this topcoat utilizes the "one visit application" method, while its ultra-fast, air-dry properties provide process and energy savings for consumers. In addition, it delivers outstanding gloss, final appearance, and durability unmatched by traditional coatings. Available as both a colored topcoat and clearcoat, Acrythane 4G offers a variety of colors found in Reichs-Ausschuss fur Lieferbedingungen, British Standard (BS), and commercial vehicle color systems and standards. After simple surface prep is completed using a solvent wipe or shot blasting, Acrythane 4G can be applied by conventional gravity and high-volume, low-pressure spray guns, with the ability to cover 100 ft~2 (9.3 m~2) per liter at 1.9 mils (50 μm). It is volatile organic compound and Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals compliant, and can be used in cold- and warm-weather conditions, thereby enabling its use year-round.
