Facile synthesis and high acetone gas sensing performances of popcorn-like In2O3 hierarchical nanostructures

摘要

In2O3 hierarchical nanostructures are successfully synthesized by a facile room temperature solution route anc a subsequent annealing treatment. The morphology and structure characterizations by SEM and XRL demonstrate that the as-prepared In2O3 architectures show unique popcorn-like contour and are of similar size about 200-300 nm. In addition, the room temperature photoluminescence (PL) spectrum of popcorn-like In2O3 clearly indicates the existence of abundant oxygen vacancies. The gas sensor based on In2O3 architecture, exhibits a superior sensitivity, a good selectivity, a rapid response rate and a well stability towards 50 ppm acetone gas. The excellent acetone gas sensing properties are predominantly attributed to the synergistic effec' of unique popcorn-like hierarchical structures and the oxygen vacancies.
