Bodewes Group buys Volharding Shipyards

Volharding Shipyards was transferred to the Bodewes Group last May. Bodewes, with a history of over 200 years in building sea-going vessels, bought the shipyard located in Harlingen, the Netherlands, at the end of the first quarter of 2013. Volharding was established in 1993 as Frisian Shipyard. Bodewes already owns shipyards in Hasselt and Meppel, with their new expansion the company strengthens her position in shipbuilding and reparation. It completely fits into their philosophy to build original Dutch products at shipyards with a combination of new building and reparation.
