I am writing to comment on the October 2000 article headlined "Owners' poser:When to switch to TBT-free?" As a technical adviser to BIMCO, I have participated at IMO during the last three MEPC meetings, debating the language and effect of the proposed ban on behalf of shipowners. The article notes "IMO has set the date for the ban on the application of tin-based paints. "
