Box vessel for Europe's 'Marine Highway'

In Europe, there has been greater emphasis than in the U.S. on using the inland waterways tornmove, not only bulk cargoes, but also shipping containers. Recently the de Roeck family took delivery of a 135m × 14.2m container vessel Isabelle. EauioDed with a telescoping wheel house, the Isabelle is capable of handling up to five layers of containers. Propulsion power is provided by Cummins QSK50-M engines, each delivering 1,600 hp at 1,800 rev/min. The Isabelle will be used to transport containers through out the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and France.
