MAN ENGINES FOR SPANISH LNG CARRIER

Stx Offshore & Shipbuilding delivered the Castillo de Santisteban, a 300 m LNG carrier to Spain's Empresa Naviera Elcano. The carrier, with a capacity to carry 173,600 m~3 of LNG, passed extensive gas and sea trials before being delivered to its owner. The vessel is equipped with five MAN dual-fuel 8L51/60DF engines. The engines have a 1,000 kW per cylinder output at 514 rev/min for 60 Hz generator sets in both it gaseous and liquid-fuel operating modes.
