As we reported last month, the luxurious Queen Elizabeth set sail last month on its inaugural voyage to the Canary Islands. Built by Italy's Fincant- ieri Cantieri Na-vali SpA Monfal-cone Shipyard to Lloyd's Register class, the 90,900 gt Queen Elizabeth cost $634 million. Designed to be environmentally efficient, the vessel implements the use of energy saving lamps and lighting, improved hull coatings to reduce emissions, increased recirculation of waste heat and improved efficiency in air conditioning.
