In early March, Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries signed a contract with Royal Dutch Shell to supply a massive LNG Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel that would have a length of 468m, beam of 74m, height of 100m and weight of 200,000 tons. The hull and machinery price will be fixed this month, says SHI, while the topsides structure with LNG production and liquefaction functions will be set by year's end.
