ASA WELCOMES MEMBERSHIP BEYOND NORTH AMERICA

Spring is known as the season of new beginnings and that has certainly been the case for the American Salvage Association. Change didn't end with the summer solstice, however, as the ASA has continued to grow and transform deep into the dog days of August. Building upon a mandate to expand its reach beyond North America, the ASA has been busy establishing and promoting a presence in Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean Sea. This involves highlighting the work of current members in the region, in addition to actively recruiting companies headquartered in these countries to become ASA members. The recruitment process looks promising and the expanded ranks of new members will help to promote and amplify the initiatives for which the ASA fights on behalf of all of its members. This is summarized in the new mission statement, which reads, "The mission of the ASA is to be a unifying association of the commercial marine salvage industry, serving as the definitive spokesman for this industry in Washington, D.C. and elsewhere in North, Central and South America as well as the Caribbean Sea."
